If you are looking to progress in or make a move into M&A there are 5 key aspects to include in your CV or develop to add to your CV to help you secure an interview:
- A deal list – detailing transactions you have worked on and tasks you covered.
- Details of your financial modelling skills – courses you have taken and types of models you have worked on (for example, DCF, LBO, Merger, Football Field, Comps)
- Remove any ambiguity about your academics – include information on all your qualifications including GCSE’s and A levels and other professional qualifications or training courses with grades and results. M&A teams and houses will be looking for strong academics.
- Use the correct corporate finance terminology to describe your experience. For example, fund flow, locked box transaction, completion.
- Ensure your Nationality and Visa status is on your CV.
