Tim Owen has worked in the financial services industry for over 18 years. Prior to joining Oghma Partners in October 2009, he was Head of Corporate Finance at Glitnir, the Icelandic bank, where his team was focused on the international food and consumer sectors. Tim also spent five years as a Director of Citigroup’s European Investment Bank, where he concentrated on the Consumer Group Food and Beverage sectors, working on a variety of transactions across the spectrum of mergers & acquisitions, equity offerings and bond issues. He also previously worked for HSBC and NatWest Securities and Robert Fleming as an Equity Research Analyst covering the Food Manufacturing sector and Food and Beverage sectors respectively.
Tim’s key relationships are with Associated British Foods, Cadbury Schweppes, Carlsberg, Coca-Cola Hellenic, Greencore, Heineken, Kerry Group, Nestlé, SABMiller, Tate & Lyle and Unilever. He has also worked on transactions for United Biscuits, Tetley Tea, Northern Foods, Kerry Group, SABMiller, Johnson & Johnson, Premier Foods, House of Fraser, Baugur and Interbrew amongst others.
Tim has a BSc Econ and PhD from the University of Wales and an MSc from London Business School. He also spent four years as an officer in the Royal Marines. Tim lives in Bath with his wife and 5 children.

Andy Smith was a Managing Director and Head of Global Research at MF Global. As a player/manager Andy also headed-up the Global consumer staples equity research team and was Head of European Research. The global research team at MFG represented 75 equity analysts across Europe, the US and Asia (HK, Tokyo & Mumbai) plus a further 80+ market commentators in strategy, economics, commodities, fixed income and FX around the world. Andy was in the process of implementing a global cross asset-class research web portal for the firm & extending a research outsourcing contract when the news broke about the firm entering Chapter 11 in November 2011.
Andy has 10 grade A 'O-Levels', 5 grade A 'A-levels', two engineering degrees from Cambridge University (1st, distinction - MA, M Eng, C Eng, MI Mech E) and spent the early part of his career at Unilever in Corporate Strategy & Research & Engineering - when he also completed an MBA and became a Chartered Engineer. Andy joined the City in 1996 and was the top-rated Food Manufacturing / Household / Personal Care analyst at ABN AMRO Hoare Govett / Schroders / Citigroup for many years. Over the period 2003-2006 Andy was voted into the 'All-Star Analyst team' by Institutional Investor Magazine and was the number 3 analyst in Europe across all sectors & all markets in terms of institutional investor votes cast (weighted & un-weighted). He was also recognized by Starmine as one of the top European stock-pickers - a distinction he won several times. After running the consumer equity research team at Citigroup Andy was headhunted in 2006 by Citadel where he worked as a senior portfolio manager for 2 years - heading the European long/short consumer book - part of a $5bn portfolio invested in Global consumer stocks. He left Citadel after two years and was hired by Millennium Capital as a senior PM to run their global consumer portfolio.
After 3 successful years on the buy-side Andy was one of the first recruits at ICAP Equities and worked alongside the senior management team to hire a research & sales team from scratch. Andy was at MF Global for almost 18 months where he operated as a player/manager - covering the global consumer staples space (Food, Beverages, Household Care, Personal Care, Tobacco & AgriChem) and sat on the European capital markets steering committee. Andy is extremely well known in the market across the UK, Continental Europe and the US by institutional investors as well as by the CEOs & CFO's of the corporations that he covers. He has a strong track record as a top rated analyst, portfolio manager and team-builder / manager & motivator.
Outside work Andy is a keen musician with a collection of 47 electric guitars, a recording studio and fronts a local rock band. Andy is also a non-Executive Director of one of the world's fastest growing luxury vodka brands which is distributed in 50 countries and has won 40+ international awards for the quality of the spirit and its packaging.
